In June 2002 I graduated Faculty of Computer Science, Iasi. As candidate to Bachelor of Science I had to develop a project. My project is called Old and New Bind Together - Connecting Unix Serves to Siemens Mainframes.
The goal of this project is to explore, identify, test and build a viable solution that allows Unix servers (mainly SUN/Solaris and Intel/Linux) to dynamically exchange data with Siemens mainframes (BSD2000/OSD operating system), over Siemens Transdata Networks using CPI-C protocol.
In autumn 2002 (September - December) I followed an International Business Course in Antwerpen, Belgium, on Karel de Grote Hogeschool, as Socrates/Erasmus student. Besides International Business classes, one task was to work on a project in IT field. The project I worked on consisted in:
Since I successfully completed these tasks, together with Medior B.V.A.B., a Belgium company involved in developing solutions for Siemens technologies who was the sponsor of this project, we decided to continue to develop the project completed in Belgium as my Bachelor of Science project.
The following technologies were explored and used, either as reference, either as part of the project:
On Medior B.V.B.A., this project will be used on:
