Details About This Site

This is release 4.2 of my website (revision date: Nov/23/2009). My first web page was published in June 1995.

Technical details

This site was entirely created using only GNU software (free software). Source code was written using text editors. Graphic decorations (including the background) were created using GIMP (GNU Image Manipulation Program). Linux operating system on an Intel based desktop computer were used as development platform. No visual tools were used.

Every page is dynamically generated using PHP server-side scripting language. Main site features are:

modular internal architecture
extremely flexible and easy to manage
a render engine which compose the two layouts: default one for web, and printer friendly one
automatic detection language (disabled; the second language was Romanian; I do not have time to maintain anymore my website in two languages)
a web album gallery, Highslide JS

The pages of this site are written in XHTML 1.0 and CSS 2. Any browser which implement these standardized technologies should render the pages of this site corectly. It is required a resolution of at least 800x600 (1024x768 recommended), and a color depth of at least 16 bpp (65,535 colors).
