Graduate of Computer Science Highschool of IasiI am graduate of Grigore Moisil Computer Science Highschool of Iasi, one of the top high schools in Romania. During a period of four years, where each week of study counted 8 hours dedicated especially for computer science related classes, I learned most of the basics in the Computer Science like:
Besides school classes and labs hours, I was strongly encouraged by my parents who made very big sacrifices (during the tough times of economic transition from a centralized economy to a market one) and acquired a PC for me to work at home and learn even more than what we were taught at school. I keep my first PC even today, despite it's completely obsolete (IBM XT compatible, Intel 8088 processor, 640 KB RAM, 40 MB HDD, 5.25" 360 KB floppy, monochrome Hercules monitor). At the end of this four years of studies I graduated the Highscool Graduate Exam and I obtained my Certificate of Study and I received by default (with the maximum mark) the Certificate of Skill in Computer Science for the good results in various student contests and for the graduation project I made. The most important project I made in high school it is called Interface ToolKit. Written in Turbo Pascal 6, it consists in a set of libraries that provides various object-oriented classes for "visual" applications for MS-DOS. It's a Turbo Vision-like set of libraries, designed completely by me without being inspired by no other software. For that, I have learned by myself how to use Object-Oriented concepts and how to program OO in Pascal. More details about this project can be found here (in Romanian only).
