Radu has 13 years of experience in 4 industries (energy, supply chain, Internet services and higher education) on two continents (North America and Europe). During his career he has worked either employed or as professional consultant, with commercial firms, state institutions, and NGO-s.
At the age of 20, Radu's first job was to teach the basics use of the computers to first time business users. A year later, in 1997, he joined the Network Operation Center (CCTI) of Technical University of Iasi (Romania), the department responsible for the management of the entire academic network, the 2nd largest in Romania at that time. In this place Radu did his appreticeship and acquired his skills about IT infrastructures. In 2001, he won a Socrates/Erasmus internship as software engineer for Medior B.V.b.A (Belgium EU), a company in the supply chain management. His project was to develop solutions for data exchange between Unix systems and Siemens mainframes platforms. In 2004 Radu joined PointerSoft SRL (Romania), a provider of IT services. Between 2001 and 2005 he was also IT consultant for World Market Watch, Inc. (USA), a company specialized in Internet services like business analytics and web metrics.
After he moved in the United States, between 2005 and 2008 Radu designed, built, and managed the worldwide high performance computing (HPC) grid of 3DGeo Inc., a provider of advanced imaging software services for the oil and gas industry. In this capacity he led a team of engineers that was responsible for a complex global distributed environment with thousands of computer systems, tens of clusters, hundreds of terabytes in storage. All these equipments supported the processing services of the seismic data, software development, and research activities.
In parallel with his work at 3DGeo, Radu also went to school for the two years full-time evening Rice MBA for Professionals program. During the 2nd year, he selected and accepted the offer from Cameron to join the GOLD Program as Business Process Lead.
Radu joined Cameron in June 2008 and the first two years with the company coincided with the worldwide economic recession. This provided great opportunities to enhance business and leadership skill-sets in challenging times. He worked as Business Process Lead, a position part of the Global Organizational Leadership Development (GOLD) Program, an initiative created by Cameron to develop future generation of business leaders. Assignments include the creation of the consolidated 2009 Cameron IT Budget, governance in budget execution, financial analysis for Cost Bullet Train initiatives, analysis of multi-annual infrastructure contracts and other assignments focused on achieving significant cost savings and business transformation.
Upon the completion of the two years rotational program in June 2010, Radu was promoted to Asset Manager. In this role he is responsible to develop and establish a global governance model for company's software class of assets. In addition, Radu also serves as Program Manager in the Commissions Program, a position for which he volunteered in 2009 for one of the company's most challenging programs.
